THE EXPERIENCE
A seven days journey where most days we will be exploring on trails with the horses (riding or hiking beside them), allowing us to expand our awareness and connection with nature. We will learn to go with the flow, synchronise with the rhythm of horses, immerse ourselves in the moment, connect to our authentic self, feeling alive and free.
We will also take time off the trails to sink in with the herd and journey deeper into ourselves. We will share our stories around the campfire, take time to integrate and simply be.

We will learn to go with the flow, synchronise with the rhythm of horses, immerse ourselves in the moment, connect to our authentic self, feeling alive and free.
We will also take time off the trails to sink in with the herd and journey deeper into ourselves. We will share our stories around the campfire, take time to integrate and simply be.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
- When: Journeys will be every fortnight starting in May 2023 till October 2023. You'll be able to see available dates once you start your booking.
- Duration: 7 days and 7 nights from Monday to Sunday. However we expect to welcome participants on the Sunday afternoon prior commencement.
- Location: Gantrisch Switzerland . We will send more details after booking, closer to the dates.
- Accomodation: tents and a cosy tippy will be provided with comfortable sleeping set ups. Some space on an inflatable mattress at the Alpage can be arranged also.
- Food: We will provide delicious nurturing food for breakfast lunch and diner but please let us know in your booking form if you have any allergies or specific food requirements and we will do our best to satisfy your needs.
- Costs: To join a group of three people €1800 per person. To join a group of two people €2400 per person. To be guided by me alone (without a group) €4200.
A deposit is required to secure your booking. Deposit are €400 and non refundable. Full payment due 30 days prior the journey, we will contact you to pay remaining amount according to the numbers of the group.
Cancellation policy: costs are fully refundable up to 30 days before the start of the journey. Costs are nonrefundable less than 30 days prior, but are transferable to another person. The deposit is nonrefundable. However, this deposit amount may be transferred to another journey if space is available.

- Horse experience and fitness required:
Riding level is intermediate to advanced. Participants need to be reasonably fit as some of the trails will involve walking up hills beside horses. Rider weight limit: 90 kilograms. If you have any specific health requirements, please inquire with us prior making your booking.
- What to bring:
- your own sleeping bag, towel and drinking bottle/thermos,
- clothes for all weather purpose (temperatures and weather conditions can vary a lot by altitude),
- hiking/riding shoes and waterproof riding wear with a helmet that fits the European standards.
- Sunscreen, toiletries (eco friendly only), hat and insects repellent.
- All you need for your self care to make your journey more enjoyable but remember to travel light for the wellbeing of our horses!
- If you bring your own horse: you'll first need to get a temporary admission procedure and a customs declaration for temporary admission ZAVV on the Federal Office for Customs and Border security website and send us the receipt of approval. All details and costs involved are on their website.
A safe fenced paddock will be provided at the Alpage for your horse. Please only bring horses that are respectful of fences and used to be around other horses. Not suitable for stallions as they will be surrounded by a herd of local horses.
There will be enough grass for your horse to graze but we won't provide hard feed, so bring what your horse needs.

With how many people are we in a group?
This is a very intimate journey with up to 3 people maximum, so that Matthias can best guide you, look after you and answer all your questions. You also have the possibility to book a one on one journey with Matthias if you prefer not to be in a group.
What happens if you can't book online on the dates that suits you best?
You can inquire directly at [email protected] and our team will make sure to find the best arrangements for you.

What If I want to do the Journey but don't have the riding skills required?
You can still be apart of the journey with a group that meet you on the same level and as long as you are happy to spend most of the time Hiking beside your horse instead of riding. You will then need to be reasonably fit to hold the pace. Be reassured, these customised journeys won't include canter or gallops, just walk and Trott :)
What about washing facilities?
These journeys are designed for us to immerse in nature. Therefore we will live very simply. However, there will be opportunities for us to wash with a basic shower at the Alpage.
